The options standing before you are ridiculous and almost depressing as you have absolutely no clue what it is you are looking for or looking at. When it comes to understanding the ins and outs of digital music players it is much like the first time that you went to purchase a computer and all of the terms in front of you were brand new. Now, it is time for you to be able to make a choice. Do you want a player with flash drive memory or had drive memory … better yet … do you even know what this stuff means?
If you are in the market for a digital music player that can store your entire music or audio library without so much as a question then you need to get a hard drive player. Flash drive players will bring in less that 1GB of memory in most places, while hard drive players will rack up anywhere from that same 1GB up to close to 100GB in some different instances. The question you must ask yourself is what exactly it is that you want out of your hard drive music player?
Let’s consider you a part of the crowd that has books and books of CDs credited to your music library and you just want to be able to bring it together in one swift movement. While the swift movement may be a judgment call, the fact that you can put it all in one place certainly is not. Consider that you can get somewhere around 500 songs per 1GB, meaning that if you have around 20,000 songs you can get them all on a hard drive that sports about 20GB.
If watching video is extremely important to you on your hard drive digital player then you need a player with larger capacity, around 20GB at least. Unless, that is, you want to store one movie at a time on your player and then remove it when you get tired of it. With 30GB or more you could store several movies and take a trip cross country without so much as wasting time changing discs or tapes!
Right off of the bat understand this, whenever you see the words “flash drive” just assume that you are getting something without very much space to store songs. In essence, “flash drive” is about the same thing as storing files on a floppy disc in comparison to storing files on a compact disc, the storage space is immensely different. You aren’t getting the same amount of space, but you are getting a much cheaper player. You ask other than saving a few dollars, is there a benefit to having a flash drive music player?
The first, and most common, reason for someone to want a flash drive player instead of a hard drive player is that it is a lot less bulky, meaning that it is a lot less likely to break during a mid-morning jog. While Apple has the iPod Video and other massive iPod hard drive options, they also see the need to be here with versions like the Nano, Mini, or Shuffle. Many people like a player to use while they jog and that player must be durable as all flash drive players tend to be.
Next, most flash drive players have added benefits like a stopwatch or FM tuner included with the player. These things may not be needed when you have a hard drive player that you listen to in the comfort of your car or home, but can be a great benefit to the jogger or runner in you or in your life! With these extra benefits the price starts to look really good as most flash drive players come in for around $90 to $120 cheaper than their hard drive counterparts!
It’s been said that people who have a hobby are often more relaxed and experience less stress than those that don’t. A hobby, like model airplane flying, can be a great way to have some down time in a life that is constantly busy. Many fathers and sons also enjoy this type of pastime together as it involves not only creating something but then watching it in operation. Men of all ages love building things they can then play with.
Most communities actually have clubs that are dedicated to this fascinating hobby. For someone who is interested in model airplane flying these organizations can be a fantastic resource. Not only do you meet other people interested in the same thing you are, but you can gain valuable insight and knowledge into not only the construction of the models, but also their operation.
Purchasing a kit is the best way to get the necessary parts required for the airplane itself. Although people who have built many model airplanes often purchase each piece individually, this isn’t recommended for someone new to model airplane flying. Obviously, the radio controlled parts are also available fully assembled which makes the job that much easier.
Finding a place to enjoy your creation can be a bit challenging. Some cities have strict regulations when it comes to model airplane flying. They may restrict it entirely from all public parks which can make it harder to find a suitable area. Unless you live in a wide, open, rural spot you are probably going to want to find a public spot that is designated just for model airplane flying.
Many communities, particularly those that are home to a club whose focus is model airplane flying, often have parks where flying is actually encouraged. Many of these types of parks have hours set aside just for model airplane flying enthusiasts, so it’s a great idea to take advantage of this.
Little boys and girls enjoy this hobby a great deal. Taking an airplane that they helped create and then having the ability to fly it is very exciting. As with any radio controlled device it’s important to have adult supervision when it comes to flying a model airplane. A child who is only five or six-years-old probably will require the adult be holding the control and telling them what to do. For an older child, they can certainly try model airplane flying with an adult close by in case something goes amiss. Steering clear of areas where there are overhead power lines is always a necessity.
Regardless of a person’s age, this is a great way for those who love flying to get a taste of controlling an airplane. Granted it’s not a 747, but it’s a fun way to spend a few hours.
Don't have a garden? A bevy of terra cotta planters are the answer!
0 comments Posted by Jaya at 3:47 AMven the smallest garden provides years of gardening entertainment. What if you don't have a garden spot? Apartment and condo dwellers may enjoy the convenience, lifestyle suitability and economy of apartment life, but still long for a little greenery, or a few flowers to liven up the landscape. If this sounds like you, there's no reason to give up on having a lovely garden.
The terra cotta planter garden actually offers a degree of versatility and true low maintenance that surpasses a backyard garden plot. You don't spend hours tilling, weeding, hoeing and improving large amounts of soil. You can work one pot at a time, creating a min-work of art in an hour. So little work, with a big payoff in garden appeal and personal satisfaction.
Terra cotta planters come in every size, from tiny African violet pots to huge pots to host a giant umbrella tree or rubber tree. You can grow your own fresh kitchen herb garden. These planters can make your modest garden the envy of the neighborhood. If you have a balcony, you can even grow grape tomatoes and zucchini in a patio-sized terra cotta planter.
These clay pots are attractive from the get-go, are portable and reusable. With a little guidance from your local nursery, you can have a year-round garden. Your tender plants can summer outdoors and take refuge inside during the cold months. Here are a few ideas on how you can create a terra cotta planter garden, a movable feast of plant life that lifts your spirits, as well as those of your visitors and passers-by.
If you live in a condo, landscaping rules are typically restrictive. You've got a pristine, but unencroachable common lawn whether you like it or not. However, you do have your entry porch, which is yours to decorate as you please. Try flanking your doorway with some terra cotta planters of varying sizes, spilling over with a magnificent summer display of trailing flowers and generous displays of bright annuals. Come fall, when the annuals are spent, replant with cyclamens, Chrysanthemums, Poinsettias, or Christmas cactus. Winter is the time to plant some spring bulbs for a fabulous display of daffodils or tulips.
One year around favorite is the coleus, which comes in a variety of brilliant leaf shades. These shade-loving plants will do well outside in late spring and throughout the summer. When the weather cools, bring them inside to cheer your windowsills.
Indoor plants can add a new dimension to your home. The candidates for permanent indoor botanical residents number in the hundreds.
With a selection of terra cotta planters, you can have a beautiful low maintenance garden, despite drought conditions and water restrictions, all year long.
One of the first things I do each Spring when the weather warms up is to clean my house from top to bottom. Many families do Spring cleaning each year because their homes have been battened down for the cold winter months, and they want to get some fresh air moving through the home. The home feels dirty, no matter how well you have cleaned, and that means cleaning things that may have been neglected. One of those things would be the window screens, as they need special care before the summer comes in full force.
The first thing you should think about would be to clean your windows. That chore is easy enough to do right, though it can be a pain. You have to remove your storm windows, if you have any, and put up your screens. Some windows come so that the storm windows and the window screens are attached all year long, you just pull down the one that you want to use. Either way, you should check your screens for signs of wear and tear, holes, and dirt that may be clogging the holes.
When it comes to dirt, you have a few options. You can remove the screen entirely and put it in the bathtub. Soaking can take off most of the dirt and grime. You can also do this outside with a hose. If you don’t want to go that far, you can also use a lint rollers to remove some of the build up. That may sound silly, but it really does work when you have build up of lint or dust on your window screens. Another options would be to use the vacuum cleaner to suck the dirt off, but that only works if you have a powerful enough vacuum cleaner.
When it comes to holes, there may be little that you can do to fix the window screens. You may be able to find some patches that can be used to put over smaller holes to stop insects from coming in, but anything large may mean that you have to replace your window screens completely. You can replace the entire thing, but it might be cheaper to remove the old screen from the frame, and to buy replacement to go in. It’s actually not that hard to do, and an easy DIY project that you can do each year when the temperatures go up.
When my family decided that this was the year we were going to begin exploring the different campsites in our area, I was apprehensive at best. The last thing I wanted to spend my summer doing was sleeping outdoors with the bugs, bears, and who knew what else. However, I didn't want to be the party pooper of my brood, so I asked what they thought of checking out the used camping trailers available in our state.
I figured that one of these vehicles would allow my entire clan to experience the great outdoors without the need for sleeping on the ground or going to the bathroom in the dirt. We could enjoy hot food and running water, and we wouldn't need to worry about wild animals disturbing us in the middle of the night. It sounded great, but where was I going to find used camping trailers in my very limited price range?
A friend of mine had some success buying a used camping trailer from an online auto classifieds website, so I decided to check out that avenue for myself. It didn't take me long to see why these types of sites are so popular right now. They're very easy to use, and allowed me to search for the vehicle I wanted by make, model, location, or price range. Plus, by shopping online, I was able to view a much larger selection of used camping trailers than I would find in my immediate area, which would allow me to find the perfect camper for my family.
There were many styles of used camping trailers to choose from, and the prices ranged from a few thousand dollars for a basic pop-up tent to hundreds of thousands for a top-of-the line RV coach suitable for a rock star. Since my family didn't need anything too fancy, I decided to stick with one of the more affordable units for now -- but I already have my eye on the possibilities when it's time to trade up!
Shopping for used camping trailers was almost as fun as using one, since I loved checking out all of the photos of these amazingly functional, highly compact vehicles. Some were pretty basic in terms of style and features, while others were embellished with designer tile and countertops, leather seating, wide-screen televisions, and fully equipped bathrooms complete with soaking tubs. I scanned the higher priced choices more than once, just to admire these amazing houses on wheels that could allow you to explore the entire country in extreme comfort and luxury.
I've put in some offers on three used camping trailers that fit my family's needs and budget. Hopefully one of the current owners will accept our bid so we can take delivery of the vehicle before the summer gets here. I'm sure we'll be hitting the road in style sometime soon!
One of the things that I like about living in San Francisco is the unique house plans. In a lot of areas in this country, people use their money to build mega-mansions. Rather than going for graceful, interesting houses that express something, they simply try to build the biggest, most expensive thing that they can to show off their wealth. For me, this isn't the way to do it. The great thing about having some money is being able to express yourself in your living situation. A unique custom house plan can do this.
On the street that I live on, there are many different unique house plans to look at. You might see an Art Deco house right next to a traditional Tudor and beyond that, a house that looks sort of like an old-style barnyard except larger. Although I don't like all of these unique house plans – some of them are downright ugly – I do admire their willingness to take risks. And with risks, there are occasionally great acts of beauty.
Up in the hills, for example, you can see some of the most unique house plans in the entire city. There are houses that are built around streams in a style that reflects the workings of the great architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Some of these have entrances at the back of the house, intricate networks of walkways, and a harmonious design that seems to fit in well with the surrounding land. They also have interesting gardens, large windows, and other features that make their house plans unique.
Coming up with your own unique house plan is kind of difficult – as I figured out myself. There are plenty of unique designs, but finding the perfect one can be a painstaking process. In my case, I had to look at well over a hundred different designs before I found the perfect unique house plans. It actually was one of the plans I had initially considered, but when I looked at it in more detail it was perfect. It was spacious, interesting, and well-designed for entertaining in such a favorable climate. There is plenty of outdoor space surrounded by awnings which protect it from the wind. Since the weather is so mild there, this meant that I had ability To entertain outside year-round. This is a great luxury for someone who enjoys inviting a lot of guests over to their house. I certainly have taken advantage of it since then.
